Playdate in the Park is an annual event (now in its third year) that the Child Development Council offers as a gift to the community. The Council says, "It is an example of unlocking the potential in young children and their families through education and play."

A centerpiece activity for the kids will be creating mazes for robotic Hexbugs out of Magna-Tiles. Celebration of Sustainability in Play for World Play Day May 20th:

at the Cass Park Pavilion, right next door to the Ithaca Children's Garden.
Our celebration is to commemorate World Play Day and the International Toy Library Association's theme this year is Sustainability. Come and learn more about how Ithaca's newly-formed toy library expands our community's commitment to sustainability. We are excited to welcome you to our first big event!
Come build your own loose parts play kit out of natural materials, play with toys from our growing collection, and enjoy music and puppet shows by Lily Silly (11am) and Miss Angie (12pm)! Eco-education toys we have purchased from Sustainable Tompkins grant funds will be highlighted.
Visit the Hands-on-Nature Anarchy Zone next door and explore with an Ithaca Children's Garden playworker, who will be onsite there in conjunction with FLTL's World Play Day celebration.
Bring a picnic lunch. Some snacks will be provided.
$5-10 suggested donation per family.

The Varna After School Program is holding an Open House and the Finger Lakes Toy Library will be there! We will bring some of our collection along for everyone to play with and we will be accepting donations of new and used toys.
